Job Title: Bookkeeper

Commitment: 25-30 hours per week

We’re looking for a detail-obsessed Bookkeeper to join our team, manage our full-cycle bookkeeping records, and help us maintain the financial health that fuels our mission.

Responsibilities

Working under the guidance of our Accounting Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day financial records for our organization.

Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Data Management

  • Weekly: Manage accurate data entry into QuickBooks Online for multiple entities, including sales data, expenses, and inventory adjustments.
  • Reconciliations: Perform month-end and year-end reconciliations for bank, currency, merchant (Stripe, PayPal, etc), and inter-company accounts.
  • Inventory & Exchange: Manage multi-currency transactions and inventory adjustments to ensure real-time accuracy.

Compliance & Payroll

  • International Tax: Calculate and file sales taxes across multiple jurisdictions, including Canadian GST, UK VAT, and US Sales Taxes.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Administer semi-monthly payroll, manage ROEs, and assist with T4 and 1099 filings.
  • Reporting: Handle WCB reporting and Employer Health Tax (EHT) filings.

Reporting & Support

  • Complete internal bookkeeping reports by the 10th of each month.
  • Assemble year-end working papers for the Accounting Manager by January 31st.
  • Provide backup support for AP/AR and assist with data gathering for special analysis or compliance projects.

What You Bring to the Table

  • The Experience: At least 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, preferably within a multi-entity or e-commerce environment.
  • You are a self-starter who values autonomy. You don’t just spot a discrepancy; you enjoy digging in to find the root cause.
  • You are an Advanced QBO user and highly proficient in the Google Workspace and/or Excel (Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs are your friends).
  • Global Mindset: Experience with Canadian and US tax filings is a major asset, although not required. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Amazon Seller Central, Shopify) will move you to the top of the list.

  • Accuracy: Month-end bookkeeping and reconciliations are complete and delivered by the 10th of each month with zero material errors.
  • Efficiency: Year-end bookkeeping is complete and delivered by January 31st.
