Position Type: Full time, salary position open in our friendly Integrative Medical Facility of Counselors, Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Physician Assistant and Recovery Professionals.
Who we are: Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services provides Alaska State certified and CARF nationally accredited outpatient programs. Providing both live onsite and tele-health services. Our integrated approach to patient care includes the treatment of behavioral health, addiction, and care coordination for primary care medical and medication management.
Our programs — from Wisdom Warriors (Veterans & First Responders) to KAP: Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy — bridge science, soul, and service. We believe in whole-person healing, trauma-sensitive care, and leading with empathy.
Who we are looking for: We are growing and have a new opening for an experienced Clinical Director who desires to work in an integrative, trauma sensitive, and holistically oriented program. As a fully accredited facility, this position is responsible for maintaining all standards set forth by the State of Alaska DBH and CARF International.
Essential Job Function: The Clinical Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for staff, programs, expansion, and execution of the company Mission. The Director will develop comprehensive knowledge of the company’s field, core programs, operations, and business plans.
Must be able to work both independently and within a supportive team of professionals and contribute as a member of a vibrant inter-disciplinary team. Looking for a strong and collaborative team-player that is enthusiastic about mental health and addiction recovery. Strong verbal and written communication abilities are a must.
This is a full-time position, requiring at least 45-50 hours of work per week, of which a majority should be in office. This position may at times require weekend work. These hours are subject to change at discretion of management and needs of the company.
Leadership and management
· Ensure programmatic excellence is achieved through rigorous program evaluation and consistent quality of administration in alignment with all federal and state regulation
· Maintain and grow community partnerships, affiliate communications, and outreach systems
· Recommend and monitor timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals
· Actively engage and energize the staff, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders
· Actively participate in Executive Leadership including meetings, strategy sessions, and implementation of strategic operational tasks
· Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress and regularly evaluate program components, to measure successes that can be effectively communicated with management and other constituents
Business development and communication
· Research and partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the roadmap of the Clinical Program
· Evaluate and provide recommendations for enhancement and utilization of CPT codes/services
· Professional and thorough communication between departments to ensure clinical operations are in alignment with overall business operations and goals
Clinical oversight and supervision
· Provide clinical oversight in the delivery of services across multiple service areas, programs, and overall service delivery sites. This includes the development of protocols, policy and procedures applicable to all recovery/mental health service staff and programs
· Provide clinical guidance and support to those delivering mental health and substance use disorders, and recovery services
· Remain up-to-date on trends in standards of practice mental health and substance use disorders, and recovery services
· Provide assistance in (directly or indirectly) training staff in necessary protocols, diagnosis and treatment methods, and clinical intervention strategies for quality mental health service delivery
· Provide coaching and hands-on supervision, as needed, with all mental health and substance use disorder/recovery staff
· Works with staff and/or immediate supervisor(s) in cases requiring corrective or disciplinary action and performance improvement planning.
· Troubleshoot challenges with a root-cause analysis and develop new or revised policies to assist staff in proper service documentation and practices
· Attend trainings, workshops, and other relevant professional development events to make recommendations to determine quality improvement measures based on current best practices in the professions
· Provide on-going assessment of program staff; including annual performance evaluation, performance improvement, and development of their individual development plan
· Identify training needs and create a yearly training plan to meet those needs and following through on successful completion
· Identify resource needs and clinical positions needed to support clinic operations
· Parter with HR to hire all vacant positions for clinical
Clinical
· Maintain a caseload equaling an average of 10 session hours of patient contact per week.
· Maintain state license while employed at Wisdom.
· Obtain a minimum of CDC I certification as soon as eligibility requirements allow and maintain certification while employed at Wisdom.
· Eligible to achieve and maintain an 1115 waiver
· Follow all applicable Codes of Ethics and laws relating to degree and certifications.
Requirements:
· Master’s degree or higher in mental health and/or substance use professions.
· Holds LPC/LCSW license (or other relevant credentials) and ability to supervise non-licensed clinicians working toward LPC / LCSW
· Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDC) I or Behavioral Health Counselor (BHC) I or higher by Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health Certification (ACBHC), or certification by another certifying body, such as a state certifying affiliate of NAADAC - the Association for Addiction Professionals - or other similar recognized organizations; experience judged as meeting certification requirements may be accepted provided the applicant be certified within six months of hire
· Five (5) years’ experience as a clinical director in addictions, social services, or mental health and supports the mission of holistic health services.
