Position Overview

Qasa is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chef to lead daily kitchen operations and uphold the highest standards of culinary excellence. The Chef plays a critical leadership role in ensuring operational efficiency, consistent food quality, and an exceptional guest experience aligned with Qasa’s standards and values.

This position requires a seasoned professional with strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and the flexibility to work in a remote jungle setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all daily kitchen operations

Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff during preparation and service

Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, consistency, and cost control

Maintain strict compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations

Lead menu planning, recipe development, and food costing

Manage inventory levels, ordering, and supplier coordination

Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of all food products

Drive kitchen organization, efficiency, and accountability

Foster a positive, organized, and team-oriented kitchen environment

Ensure alignment between culinary execution and overall retreat guest experience

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 10 years of professional culinary experience

Formal culinary education or certifications from an accredited institution

Proven leadership experience in a professional kitchen

Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen management

Experience managing kitchen teams and maintaining operational systems

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic hospitality environment

Willingness and availability to work in a remote location (Tinamastes)

Flexibility to adapt to the operational needs of a retreat setting

Preferred Attributes

Experience in retreat centers, boutique hospitality, or wellness-focused cuisine

Creativity in menu development using fresh, locally sourced ingredients

Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
