Position Overview

Assessing Alternatives Counseling (AAC) is seeking a licensed therapist who is passionate about innovation in mental health care and excited to help build and grow a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) program from the ground up.

This is a unique opportunity for a clinician who wants to do more than simply provide therapy. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, systems-minded, and motivated to help shape clinical protocols, referral pathways, program structure, and long-term vision—while also actively providing ketamine-assisted psychotherapy services.

What You’ll Do
Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (preparation, dosing sessions, integration)
  • Conduct clinical assessments and determine appropriateness for KAP
  • Provide traditional psychotherapy as part of a full caseload
  • Collaborate with prescribers and medical providers
  • Maintain compliant documentation and risk assessment protocols

Program Development Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing KAP clinical protocols and workflows
  • Help design screening and intake processes
  • Contribute to policies related to safety, emergency procedures, and informed consent
  • Support marketing education efforts (community outreach, provider education)
  • Participate in strategic planning for program growth
  • Track outcomes and contribute to program evaluation

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both direct client care and building systems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Licensed in Colorado (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist)
  • Minimum 2 years post-licensure clinical experience
  • Experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, or complex cases
  • Strong clinical judgment and risk assessment skills

Preferred:

  • Formal KAP training (MAPS, Polaris, Fluence, etc.) or active enrollment
  • Experience in psychedelic-informed therapy
  • Experience collaborating with medical providers
  • Interest in program development or leadership

Compensation Structure

Compensation is designed to support both clinical work and program growth.

Phase 1 (Program Launch):

  • Per-session compensation for KAP sessions facilitated
  • Competitive per-session rate for traditional therapy
  • Optional oversight/leadership stipend during initial development phase

Phase 2 (Stabilized Revenue):

  • Transition to tiered revenue share or hybrid compensation model
  • Opportunity for increased leadership compensation as program grows

Compensation range varies depending on experience and licensure level. Detailed structure will be discussed during interview process.

Pay: $26.97 - $32.49 per hour
