Our mission is to support whole-person healing through evidence-based, deeply human care. We are building a new model for mental health, one that is personalized, proactive, interdisciplinary, and responsive to the evolving landscape of psychiatric and psychedelic assisted therapy.
Role Overview
Evergood is seeking a motivated Medical Director to lead our clinical services and serve as a steward of excellence within our community.
This role extends beyond medical screening and medication administration. We are looking for a physician who is deeply committed to advancing the field of mental health care and who believes in the responsible, evidence-based integration of innovative therapies such as ketamine therapy and emerging psychedelic-assisted treatments.
The Medical Director will help shape protocols, mentor clinicians, uphold safety and ethical standards, and represent Evergood as a leader in integrative mental health within Baton Rouge and the broader Gulf South.
This is a leadership role requiring intellectual curiosity, community engagement, and a meaningful investment in building something exceptional.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical oversight for ketamine-assisted therapy services (IM and future modalities like IV)
Conduct medical evaluations and treatment planning
Supervise and support CRNAs, nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff
Develop and refine clinical protocols aligned with best practices and emerging evidence
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and ethical standards
Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic growth and service development
Engage with the local medical and mental health community to build referral strong and trusting relationships
Represent Evergood in community events, educational forums, and professional settings
Contribute to ongoing innovation in integrative and psychedelic-informed care
Participate in continuing education and training as needed
Qualifications
MD or DO with active Louisiana medical license
Relevant experience in mental health treatment
Trained in Ketamine assisted therapy (preferred, not a must)
Experience with clinical practice of ketamine therapy (Preferred, but not a must. Training provided)
Board certification in Psychiatry (asset, not a must)
Addiction medicine specialization (asset, not a must)
Interest in or experience with psychedelic-assisted therapy and emerging psychiatric innovations
Strong clinical judgment, integrity, compassion, and commitment to patient safety
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Experience working within multidisciplinary care teams
