The Parsons Research Center for Psychedelic Healing at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount
Sinai and the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Bronx has an opening for a
2-year postdoctoral clinical research psychologist. The postdoctoral fellow will join a
well-established research team with active research protocols on psychedelic-assisted therapies
for trauma and PTSD, and the prevention and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Primary responsibilities include conducting structured psychiatric diagnostic assessments for
veteran and civilian research participants, as well as assisting with management of research study
operations. The postdoctoral fellow may have opportunities to conduct data analysis and assist
with manuscript preparation, assist with development of research protocols, and obtain training
in psychedelic assisted therapy. Research oriented candidates may have access to multiple cross
sectional and treatment outcome datasets, and have opportunities to propose and contribute to
manuscript development. Clinically oriented candidates will receive supervision for clinical
assessments that may be used for licensure. This position will have some telework potential but
will also require on site work in NYC.
Experience and Qualifications:
● PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
● Clinical training and experience working with PTSD are highly desirable
● Experience administering structured diagnostic interviews such as the Structured Clinical
Interview for DSM-5 (SCID-5) and the Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale for DSM-5
(CAPS-5)
● Strong written and communication skills
