Program Director - Shulgin Foundation

Reports To: Executive Director

Compensation: $50 per hour, 15-20 hours per week

Position Summary

The Programs Director will play a critical leadership role in planning and execution of the Shulgin Foundation’s nonprofit programs. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for creating a strategic vision for programs activity, developing programs and assessing feasibility, and executing programs while measuring impact. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to and grow with a mission-driven nonprofit while honoring the transformative legacy of Ann and Sasha Shulgin.


Key Responsibilities

Programs Management

-Develop, implement, and evaluate programs that align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.

-Grow existing programs such as Farm and virtual events while assessing possible programs.

-Develop new initiatives or expand existing ones based on collective vision, data, and impact analysis.

-Ensure all programs comply with legal, ethical, and funding regulations.

Resource Management and Reporting

-Develop and manage program budgets in coordination with the finance team.

-Monitor and report on program-associated financial and operational metrics.

-Develop and maintain systems to track program outcomes and impact.

-Maintain documentation to support evaluations and audits.


Fundraising Support

-Collaborate with the development team to identify funding opportunities

-Provide program-related content and data for grant applications and reports.

-Participate in donor meetings and presentations when relevant.


Communications and Community Engagement

-Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.

-Represent organization at external events, coalitions, and collaborative initiatives.

-Collaborate with the Communications team to develop narratives that convey the Foundation’s programs impact and success.

-Create compelling program-related communications that align with the organization’s priorities and vision.


Strategic Leadership

-Contribute to the organization’s long-term strategy and planning processes.

-Advocate for program priorities and resources with senior leadership.

-Align programmatic work with organizational values, equity goals, and impact objectives.


About You

You are a passionate and strategic relationship-builder who excels at inspiring trust and creating connections. You bring experience in nonprofit program design and execution, a talent for engaging community partners, and a commitment to the Foundation’s mission.


Qualifications

-4+ years of nonprofit programs experience, including expertise in program design, execution, and evaluation. Consideration will also be given to those with relevant business experience, in place of nonprofit program experience.

-Proven success in launching and growing nonprofit programs, with measurable impact.

-Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and nurture collaborative partnerships.

-Proficiency in program design and assessment approaches.

-Adaptability and self-motivation to thrive in a dynamic, evolving organization.

-Passion for the Shulgin legacy and the psychedelic community, with a willingness to deepen your knowledge.
