Work Schedule: Mondays and Tuesdays, 8 hours per day (16 hours a week)
Potential to Expand: Opportunity to grow into a full-time (5 days/week) role based on program expansion and patient volume.
Position Summary:
Sound Wellness Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Spravato Coordinator/Technician to oversee our outpatient esketamine (Spravato) treatment program.
This part-time role (16 hours/week) is ideal for a candidate with prior Spravato experience and a working knowledge of insurance authorizations, the buy-and-bill model, and billing processes. You will play a vital role in coordinating care, ensuring compliance with REMS protocols, and supporting the therapeutic experience for patients with treatment-resistant depression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Spravato treatment sessions, including scheduling, patient preparation, and monitoring.
- Obtain and track prior authorizations and benefit verifications from insurance companies.
- Manage the buy-and-bill process, including ordering, inventory control, and collaboration with specialty pharmacies.
- Monitor and document patient status before, during, and after treatment in accordance with REMS and clinic protocols.
- Work closely with prescribers, pharmacies, and payers to ensure continuity of care and treatment access.
- Assist with medical billing, including coding support and claims submission for Spravato treatments.
- Educate patients on treatment expectations, safety guidelines, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in the EHR system.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or relevant healthcare training preferred.
- Prior experience working with Spravato (esketamine) required or strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with REMS protocols, buy-and-bill models, and insurance payer processes is essential.
- Experience with EHR systems (Kareo known as Tebra) and healthcare documentation standards.
- Background in medical billing and payer reimbursement (especially behavioral health) is a plus.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), LPN, or other clinical license preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience:
- At least 1 year of direct experience with Spravato treatment coordination or administration.
- Prior work in behavioral health, outpatient psychiatry, or infusion/medication management settings.
- Knowledge of Maryland payer systems, including Medicaid and commercial plans.
Compensation & Schedule:
- Part-time: 16 hours per week (Mondays and Tuesdays, 8 hours each)
- Opportunity to increase to full-time (5 days/week) as the Spravato program grows
