WordPress Developer (Middle/Senior), Freelance/Contract - Pink Elephant

About Us Pink Elephant VC is a venture capital fund dedicated to innovations in mental health. We support startups transforming psychological wellbeing and building technologies that improve millions of lives. We are looking for an experienced Freelance WordPress Developer to collaborate with us on a project basis to build, maintain, and optimize our digital products.

The Role We need a reliable technical partner to handle development tasks ranging from complex feature implementation to performance optimization. You will work remotely, collaborating with our product and design teams to bring visual concepts to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development: Build and maintain WordPress products, creating custom themes and plugins from scratch when necessary.
• Elementor Customization: deeply customize Elementor functionality (creating custom widgets/add-ons) to match specific design requirements.
• Integration: Connect third-party services and APIs.
• Optimization: Ensure high performance (Core Web Vitals), security, and stability.
• Maintenance: Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and regular content/security updates.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
• Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Elementor Expert: Advanced ability to leverage and extend Elementor (not just drag-and-drop).
• Architecture: Deep understanding of WP architecture, hooks, filters, and REST API.
• Database: Solid knowledge of MySQL and database optimization.
• Tools: Experience with Git and deployment processes (staging/production).
• Security: Knowledge of best practices (protection against XSS, SQL injection).
• Soft Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, manage your own time, and deliver on deadlines without micromanagement.
